You can sign up for the following special events on the Registraion form, or at the show if there is space available.
Meet the Teachers
Wednesday, June 25
5:30 - 7:00pm
Tickets: Pre-purchased tickets are $15 and include admission to both “Meet the Teachers” and “Sneak Preview.” Tickets may be purchased at the door for Meet the Teachers only, for $5.00.
Location: The Rochester Art CenterAtrium.
Join us for a special time meeting the teachers and lecturers, purchasing books and patterns, and getting autographs. There will be door prize drawings at 6:00 pm and 6:45 pm. Also at 6:45 pm there will be a drawing for a sewing machine! You must be present to win.
Sneak Preview
Wednesday, June 25
7:00 - 9:00pm
Tickets: Pre-purchased tickets are $15 and include admission to both “Meet the Teachers” and “Sneak Preview.” Tickets may be purchased at the door for Sneak Preview only, for $10.00. After meeting the teachers, be among the first to view the quilts and visit the vendors!
“Jewels of Distinction” Fashion Show
Thursday, June 26
7:30pm
Jenny Raymond, noted garment designer, author, and teacher, will be the emcee for the MQ fashion show “Jewels of Distinction” which will include garments of her own design.
Many MQ members and friends will also show off their own creations by modeling them in the fashion show. Viewers' choice awards will be given based on balloting by the audience members.
There is an added, fun twist to the show called “Make It Over, Make It New”. Participants will create and model a new wearable made from something old. The audience will vote for their favorite and the person with the highest number of votes will win a purse custom designed and made by Melody Shryock.
Door prizes, including a sewing machine, will be given away.
Grand Banquet

Social Hour begins at 5:30 pm in the
Heritage Hall Foyer and Windsor Hall
Join with old and new friends, faculty members and show sponsors to see pictures of the award winning quilts, honor our Minnesota Quilter of the Year, Darlene Zimmerman, and enjoy a great meal. Special entertainment will be provided by noted quilt artist, handbag designer, teacher and author, Linda McGehee. Your admission gives you another chance to win a sewing machine or other great door prizes.
Dinner choices are:
Pan Seared Breast of Chicken with Basil Mushroom Cream Sauce served with chef’s choice of potatoes
or
Herb Rubbed Boneless Loin of Pork with a sun dried fruit and citrus orange sauce served with chef’s choice of potatoes
or
Vegetable Kabob and Tofu served on a bed of Rice PilafAll meals include a salad, dessert, and a choice of coffee, tea, milk and water
Note: Table reservations for the Banquet may be made at the North Lobby information booth during the show. Any tables not reserved by noon on Friday June 27, will be available for open seating.
"Fat Quarter Stroll"

Passports (tickets): $18 for pre-registration; $20 at the Show. There are a limited number of passports available, so don’t delay in getting yours!
If you’ve never experienced the fun of a Fat Quarter Stroll, here are the details.
1) Purchase a passport ($18 for pre-registration; $20 at the Show)
2) Visit the participating shops and show booths, select a fat quarter from each location, and get your passport punched to record your visit
3) After visiting all of the locations, return to the Mayo Civic Center and turn in your passport.
All punched passports must be turned in by 1:00 pm Saturday, June 28th at the MQ Board
table to receive an original quilt pattern designed
by our own Carol Best.
If your passport has 1- 6 locations punched, you will be entered to win a $75 gift certificate to a quilt shop of your choosing. For those who have all 10 locations punched, you will be entered to win the grand prize of a $150 gift certificate, provided by Minnesota Quilters, Inc., to a quilt shop of your choosing.
(PS: No need to bring your hiking boots, the
participating shops and booths are located along the shuttle bus route, which picks up and drops off in the Circle Drive of the Mayo Civic Center.)
