Parking and Shuttle Bus Service

Minnesota Quilters has arranged for quilt show parking and shuttle service at the Olmsted County Fair Grounds on Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27 for $5.00 per vehicle. The Fair Grounds are located at 1400 S. Broadway. (See directions and map below.)

With Rochesterfest also in full swing at the same time as the Minnesota Quilters Show and Conference, this offsite parking and shuttle service will provide you with the convenience of being dropped off and picked up at the main entrance to the show. This will alleviate any problems that you might encounter with traffic and parking downtown during the festival.

Shuttle bus service will be available (only on Thursday and Friday) between the Fair Grounds' lot and the Mayo Civic Center, with hotel stops on the way. The $5.00 parking fee covers bus shuttle service (for the driver and passengers in the vehicle), from the Olmsted County Fairgrounds to the Mayo Civic Center. On Saturday, June 28, there will be ample parking in the ramps near the Mayo Civic Center, so no shuttle service will be available.

Shuttle Bus Hours and Route - updated June 18, 2008

The Minnesota Quilters (MQ) Shuttle Bus will run continually on Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27 starting at 7:30 am from the Olmsted County Fairgrounds. It will make stops at designated downtown hotels (see below) on its way to the front entrance of the Mayo Civic Center (MCC). Starting at 10:30 a.m. it will also stop at a central location near the Downtown Fat Quarter Stroll Shops.

Look for the “MQ Shuttle Bus Pickup/Drop-off Here” signs to wait for/board the shuttle bus. Due to construction in downtown Rochester, there might be last minute changes to the downtown stops. Any last minute changes to the route will be posted at the Fairgrounds and at the MCC. Refer to the Shuttle Bus Route and Stops below for more information.

To ride the shuttle bus to other locations or return to the Fairgrounds, persons 12 years and older must be wearing a MN Quilters Show badge/wrist band, or Rochesterfest Button (can be purchased at the MQ show). Riders under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult with one of the above identifications.

Thursday 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm; Friday 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm:

MCC > HT -> FG -> HT -> MCC

9:00pm after Fashion Show (Thurs), or after Banquet (Fri.):

KGHT -> HT -> FG -> KGHT

Fashion Show and Banquet Shuttle Service

If you are going to the Fashion Show on Thursday evening or to the Banquet on Friday evening, there will be shuttle bus service to the events at the Grand Kahler Hotel from the Mayo Civic Center. There will be shuttle bus service from the Grand Kahler to the Fair Grounds parking lot and stops at hotels along the route, when the events are over.

Directions to the Olmstead County Fair Grounds from US Hwy 52:

Coming from the North (Twin Cities)

• Take the US-14 East exit (#54A) toward Winona.
• Continue on US-14 E/12th St. SW. to S. Broadway.
• Take a RIGHT onto S. Broadway/US-63 S. to 14th St.
• Turn LEFT into the Fair Grounds (look for the corn cob water tower).

Coming from the South

• Take the US-63 North/S Broadway exit (#51) and turn RIGHT.
• Continue 2.1 miles north on US-63/S. Broadway to 14th St.
• Turn RIGHT into the Fair Grounds (look for the corn cob water tower).
