Quilt Documentation Day (by appointment)
Wednesday, June 25, 2008
Minnesota has a rich and abundant quilting heritage! Over the past 20 years the Minnesota Quilt Project (MQP) has been documenting quilts and interviewing quilters to preserve this history for future generations. Documentation includes photographing each quilt and recording details such as block size, fabrics used, pattern name and pattern type as well as information about the quilt's origin, maker and owner. At the 2008 MQ Quilt Show and Conference, MQP will continue this process by holding a Quilt Documentation Day on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, by appointment only.
Minnesota's quilt heritage should continue to be documented. Quilts, old and new, are welcome for documentaion. If you have a family quilt, a treasure found in a trunk or at your local antique shop, or have made a quilt yourself, please make an appointment and bring your treasure to be documented.
Please complete the form and mail by May 1, 2008 to:
Patricia Cox
6601 Normandale Road
Edina , MN 55435
You can indicate a time preference on the form, and tell us how many quilts you plan to bring (there is a maximum of 3 quilts per person). Appointment confirmations will be mailed out by June 1, 2008
