Quilted Jewels - A 30th Celebration Minnesota Quilters' 2008 Annual Show and Conference returns to the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, Minnesota to celebrate our 30th annual quilt show! New Information and Updates: Parking and shuttle bus service during the show will be available Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27. Parking will be at the Olmstead County Fairgrounds and the shuttle will take you to the door of the Mayo Civic Center. For details, click here. Shuttle van service to and from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport will be available for $25 one way or $49 round trip. For more information and to make reservations, click here. Important Registration News! . . . . . MQ members and non-members may now register for Quilted Jewels, the 2008 MQ annual show and conference. Use your show registration book to choose your classes, lectures and special events, or use the menu on the left to explore your options. Then double-click the Show Registration button, above, to begin the process. The deadline for pre-registration is May 31, 2008. If you want a little help to get started you can use the Show Registration Reference Guide. Highlights Quilt competition and exhibits: Become a part of the show by entering a quilt in the Judged competition, the Non-Judged exhibit, or the Children's exhibit. Special Events: Check out the special events that we have planned for you, including Meet the Teachers, Sneak Preview, “Jewels of Distinction” Fashion Show, Grand Banquet, and a Fat Quarter Stroll. Quilter of the Year: We are proud to announce that the 2008 Minnesota Quilter of Year is Darlene Zimmerman. Scholarship for Beginning Quilters: A scholarship is available for a beginning quilter who would like to attend the show and receive a free class and hotel accommodations. Small Quilt Auction: The Minnesota Quilters' small quilt auction is an annual fund raising event in which quilters donate small quilted items for an auction to be held at the June show. Special Exhibits: Your help is needed to make the special exhibits . . . special! Volunteer!: Our show's success rests totally on the very capable shoulders of our volunteers. Please consider giving an hour of your time at the show. Volunteers are entered in an exclusive drawing for a new sewing machine, plus other door prizes. Raffle Quilt: Take a look at our beautiful raffle quilt and order tickets. On-line Registration You may sign up for classes, lectures, events and box lunches, and pay online. Admission Prices and Information Single day admission to the MQ show in Rochester is $10.00, $8.00 if you are an MQ member or have purchased a Rochester Fest button (available at the show and other locations throughout the city). Multi-day admission is $25.00 for Thursday – Saturday, $15.00 if you are an MQ member. Children (3-10) are $5.00 per day. Children under 3 are free, however, strollers and rolling/shopping carts are not allowed on the show floor. General admission can only be purchased at the Mayo Civic Center ticket office, during the show. Pre-registration, available online, includes a multi-day admission to the show floor, a show bag, and a show pin. The cost is $35 for MQ members and $40 for non-members. Rochesterfest We will be sharing the city of Rochester with their annual street festival, Rochesterfest. Many of the festival activities and booths will be located just outside of the Mayo Civic Center during the quilt show. Go to www.rochesterfest.com for more information. MQ Vendor Applications: The Minnesota Quilters' vendor application process is now closed; all of the booths have been filled.
