MQ Quilter of the Year
The MQ Board of Directors and the 2007 Show Committee are proud to announce Sharon Hultgren as the recipient of the tenth annual MQ Quilter of the Year award. This award was established to select a Minnesota quilter who has dedicated time and talent to the preservation and promotion of quilting, has made a significant impact on the quilt community, both locally and nationally, and has a collection of personal and professional quilted work.
Sharon has participated in all aspects of quilting for many years. She owned her own quilt shop and has been an integral part of the quilting industry. Sharon has created a series of quilting accessories that have made quilting projects so much easier and more enjoyable. The EZ Angle is one of her many creations that have made quilting projects more precise and pleasurable.
Sharon has written numerous books and teaches quilting classes throughout the country and overseas. She shares her genuine love and passion for the industry, and quilting in general, with those around her. Sharon and her husband, Dale, enjoy traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Sharon is happy to say that her two granddaughters are becoming fine quilters!
At the 2007 show in St. Paul you will be able to see a variety of Sharon's work, and you can visit with Sharon in person at her exhibit. She has many fun and exciting ideas to share. Sharon will also be honored at the Banquet and Awards Ceremony Friday, so please come for the festivities.
