MQ2006 - Quilter of the Year
Meet Claudia Clark Myers, the 2006 Quilter of the Year
The MQ Board and the 2006 Show Committee are proud to announce Claudia Clark Myers as the recipient of the 9th annual MQ Quilter of the Year award. This award was established to select a Minnesota quilter who has dedicated time and talent to the preservation and promotion of quilting, has made a significant impact on the quilt community, both locally and nationally, and has a collection of personal and professional quilted work.
Claudia Clark Myers came to the quilt world from a sewing and theater background as costume designer and teacher. She has worked with many opera and ballet companies and at the College of St. Scholastica. She has twice been the Show Chair for the Minnesota Quilt Show and Conference, in 1997 and 2001, both held in Duluth. She has had numerous quilts juried into national shows, winning awards at many of them. She is half owner of “2 Much Fun!,” producing paper-piecing patterns. Claudia also designs fabric for Fabri-Quilt in Kansas City.
At the show in St. Cloud in 2006 attendees will be able to see a retrospective of Claudia’s work and visit with her at the Quilter of the Year exhibit. She will also be honored at the Banquet and Awards
Ceremony on Friday evening.
