SP1004 MEET THE TEACHERS AND SNEAK PREVIEW

Start your quilt show experience on an exciting high by greeting and talking with your favorite teachers and lecturers. Bring your books and patterns for them to sign, or purchase them here. Announcement of the judged competition and the drawing for a fabulous Janome sewing machine will take place at 6:00pm. We’ll be serving luscious walk-around sundaes to keep your energy up for the Sneak Preview, where our selected vendors have some surprises in store for you. Tickets for the Sneak preview only, will be available at the door in Fitzgerald Hall.

SP2004 PARTY WITH THE FISHES

Location: Great Lakes Aquarium (next to the DECC)
Crocodiles and otters and chocolate-covered strawberries-Oh My! Join the festivities at the Great Lakes Aquarium for a tempting dessert buffet and self-guided tour of the exhibits. The highlight of the evening will be the Jacket Challenge with creations modeled throughout the aquarium. You choose the winners! And, if you are lucky, you will be the winner of the coveted Bernina sewing machine.

MINNESOTA QUILTERS, INC., ANNUAL MEETING
Admission: Free - MQ Members Only. Please remember to bring your membership card for admittance.

Location: Auditorium (Entrance on Skywalk Level)
Your Board will recap the year’s activities and accomplishments. It is also a forum for members to ask questions and offer suggestions. We will collect written questions before the meeting if you prefer. The annual meeting will be held from 12:00 - 12:45. As in past years, there will be a drawing for a sewing machine. After the annual meeting, MQ members will be treated to a sneak preview of what’s to come in American Patchwork & Quilting® publications by Heidi Kaisand, Executive Editor. Senior Editor, Jennifer Keltner, will share insights on the quilts and quiltmakers whose designs are selected for publication. You will see quilts in a new light after a lively discussion of the “Three Cs of Color”, and quilting options. You’ll come away with new ideas, inspiration, and creativity. And you’ll get a preview of the projects that are scheduled for publication in America’s favorite quilting magazine.

Gather with your quilting friends, our faculty and sponsors, as we celebrate and honor our Minnesota Quilter of the Year, Lynette Jensen, in the beautiful Lake Superior Ballroom. We’ll be announcing the Viewer’s Choice and Faculty Awards as well as giving away the exciting Husqvarna Viking sewing machine. You really won’t want to miss our keynote speaker, Laura Wasilowski, as she takes us along for laughs with “I Quilt, Therefore I Am”!
Dinner selections: Roast Sirloin, Walleye or Vegetarian.
