Meetings

Minnesota Quilters offers two meetings each month, with the exceptions of December and June. The evening meetings moon are on the first Thursday of the month and begin at 7:00 p.m. The morning meetings sun are on the following Saturday and begin at 10:00 a.m. *Dates may vary if there is a conflict with a holiday.

All meetings are held at the St Lawrence Catholic Church & Newman Center unless otherwise noted.
Meetings are free for MQ members, $5 for non-member for regular meetings and $7 for non-members for lecture meetings.

When there's a workshop ( scissors) the locations may vary. Check the registration forms for details when it comes out.      Meeting rules and policies.

*Coffee and treats will now be served before each meeting to allow more time for socialization among our members. Coffee will be ready at 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays and 9:30 am on Saturdays. Wear your name tags/membership cards so we can get to know each other. Meeting speakers may be subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control.

moon August 7th, 2014 Membership Meeting at 7 pm

Our August theme will be about quilt studios and studio organization again this year, beginning with "Grab 'n Go" lecture on Thursday. A successful quilting retreat or class starts long before you leave the house. Lois Hallock, a professional organizer and quilter from Snohomish, Washington, will show us how to get ready and stay ready for any quilting event.

 

scissorsAugust 8, 2014 "Quilt Studio Planning and Design".

In this six hour class, Lois Hallock will help participants learn the basics of quilt studio design, from ergonomics to storage solutions customized to the needs and style of each quilter, taking into consideration individual studio challenges. This invitation was sent to members only and is already filled to capacity. If members would like to be put on the waiting list they can go to the email invitation and click 'yes' and it will tell them it's full and give them an option to be added to the waiting list.

First come to the meeting "Creating Your Perfect Quilting Space".

An entertaining and informational presentation by Lois Hallock jam packed with before and after photographs of real room makeovers.

Then Studio Tours II from 1:00 to 5:30 pm!

Tour six individual quilt studios in the Twin Cities area to see how other quilters organize their creative spaces! Pre-purchased tickets are available for members at $20 and nonmembers at $25. Call the MQ Office if you would like to buy tickets at 612-436-0449. Tickets purchased at the door of one of the studios will be $25 for everyone.
